Welcome to TACOA Institute
TACOA Institute is located in Kahama Municipality, Shinyanga-Tanzania. It was originally established in 2007 as a non-governmental organisation namely Tanzania Counsellors Associates (TACOA) to provide counseling and training services in the United Republic of Tanzania. In April 2019, it was accredited by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) to provide technical and vocational education, while in February 2023 started to be regulated by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) whereby it was duly registered with registration number REG/NACTEVET/0950P.
In 2020, in order to respond to demands in the marketplace, TACOA launched in addition to taught classes courses online and distance learning programs through a blended mode of delivery. The college has been earmarked to be a center of excellence in the country in offering vocational education which seeks to break new ground by bridging the gap between traditional university education and changing socio-economic environment. The vocational courses enable a student to interweave general education with work oriented skills and knowledge.
The College is now focusing on ensuring that its training programmes meet the challenges arising from rapid technological advancement. Its programmes are aligned to the implementation of the TVET Act, 2006 and other education policies and labor market changes. As a TVET training College under the Ministry of Education (MOE), TACOA Edutech Institute, has prioritized Access and Equity, Quality and Relevance, ICT Integration into Education and Training, Research, Science, Technology and Innovation. TACOA Edutech Institute currently offers National Vocational Awards (NVA) and has been equipped with state-of-the-art training equipment in sectors of Mining, Agriculture, Business, Social Science, Hospitality and Information Technology.
